Chapter II. Knowing, proceeding and acting
- Article 4: The understanding and promotion of the common ethical values of humanity, in a spirit of tolerance and respect for the diversity of religious, philosophical and moral beliefs are, at the same time, the foundation and consequence of a responsible hosting company. The agents of the Borinquen Thermal Resort and the tourists themselves will pay attention to the traditions and social and cultural practices of all peoples, including those of national minorities and indigenous populations, and will recognize their richness.
Chapter VI: Tourist Rights and Right to Tourism
- Article 18: The possibility of direct and personal access to the discovery of the riches of our world will constitute a right open equally to all the inhabitants of our planet. The participation of Costa Rica and by Borinquen Thermal Resort will not oppose any obstacle to said access.
- Article 19: Borinquen Thermal Resort recognizes that: “The rights of tourists must be understood as contemplated within the right to rest, leisure, business, culture, religion or health and in particular to the reasonable limitation of the duration of work and periodic paid vacations, which is guaranteed in the Costa Rican Labor Code and in article 24 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and in article 7.d of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. Likewise, the right to free movement is a public freedom guaranteed for both foreigners and nationals by articles 19, 22 and 48 of the Political Constitution and article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Chapter VIII. Safety and work environment
- Article 25: Harassment of any kind is not allowed:
• Verbal harassment: disparaging comments, jokes or slurs, among others.
• Physical harassment: unnecessary or offensive contact.
• Visual harassment: notes or gestures.
• Sexual Harassment: Innuendo. - Article 26: Recognize the dignity of people, respect their freedom and privacy, respecting and valuing the identities and differences of employees.
- Article 27: Acts of harassment and discrimination based on race, creed, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, color, gender, national origin, appearance, or any other reason are prohibited.
Chapter X: Of the principles of the Company and its Guides
- Article 32: It is indicated that the Principles of the Company are:
• Be fair and responsible on a social level, especially with local communities.
• Be responsible at a cultural level, promoting the conservation and even the rescue of the cultural values that characterize the community and the traits of its collaborators. - Article 35: It is indicated that the principles for the Tourist or Visitor are:
• To increase the sense of travel, educate yourself about the customs and cultures of the region you visit.
